Resort

La Grande Terche is a traditional resort catering for both winter and summer season. The village is perched above the valley with the river Dranse and the village of St Jean d’Aulps below. The resort has been developed to follow the traditional Savoie style so not to spoil the beautiful surroundings and the views from La Grande Terche are quite breathtaking.

La Grande Terche has 34km of skiing entering three different valleys, and has 14 lifts directly accessible from the village which offers slopes suitable for families and beginners - away from the rush of some of the more crowded main resort slopes. However if you are a good skier, the 10km long circuit, the longest red run in the Portes due Soleil, from La Grande Terche through Bellevaux takes you from forest to hamlet, and is both exhilarating and extremely beautiful. For the more experienced or adventurous skier the resorts of Morzine-Avoriaz is 15 minutes drive away as is the Ardent lift both of which offer quick access to over 650km of linked skiing in the Portes du Soleil. In the winter there is a free ski bus should you wish to try the other resorts and enjoy additional après ski.

La Grande Terche has several restaurants which offer a variety of local and international cuisine, bars, ski-hire shops, mini market and ski-schools. St Jean d’Aulps is five minutes down the valley and offers further shops, restaurants, pharmacy, doctor's surgery, banks and tourist office. An excellent well-stocked 'Champion' supermarket, which also sells petrol, is also only 5 minutes away.

La Grande Terche is just over an hours drive from Geneva making it one of the most accessible from the UK.

This resort makes a perfect ski holiday for the winter or a summer getaway to enjoy the peaceful calm of the Alps and the outdoors with good hiking, cycling routes, paragliding, canyoning, kayaking and many other activities on the doorstep.
